Welcome!

First, there was a play. Audiences laughed, cried, cheered, and sometimes threw fruit. And it was good. Then Hemminge and Condell published the First Folio, later called The Complete Works. This ponderous document English teachers took very seriously and have been pummeling students with it ever since.

While working at Shakespeare can produce rewarding outcomes, we must not forget that Shakespeare intended them to entertain. This site strives to help teachers put the play back in Shakespeare!
